Flash Pool

"Fun game!"

submission: Flash Pool
date: June 26, 2009

Actually, I find this game relatively easy to play, and this comes from a person that finds most simulation games/anything requiring aiming to be nearly impossible. I think the physics work passably well. Perhaps you can find a way to lock the direction you are shooting first, and then adjust power. I did find it a bit of a struggle to juggle both of those at the same time on some shots.

I also like that there aren't distracting sounds while I'm concentrating on my shots, but maybe you can consider adding music in future games, provided you also have a mute button so we can choose whether to hear it or not. Overall, I find this to be a good game: the graphics are detailed enough and you allow us a fair number of mistakes before restart. In closing, this is a great first submission, and some reviewers seem to be overlooking that aspect. Good luck with your future endeavors, and I've added this to my favorites.

Chronicles of Clitoria

"Well placed humor."

Frankly, I was a bit worried about the mention of penises in the comments but was pleasantly surprised to see how they were handled (pun intended.) The narrator's Tourette like moments of referencing the villain are pure genius. Also, the word "ladyboy" amuses me more than I had expected. However, I think the Zelda, Dogma, the Game - and most importantly, Monty Python - references are not so over the top. I think some or all these may be missed by more immature viewers, and this may be reflected in the score, which I would rate much higher. This does not lack for talent, and for that it earns 5/5. I will concede that animation could be tweaked some, but I am primarily interested in content, so I consider it 9 worthy. I rarely laugh out loud watching submissions, but this did the trick. I anxiously await a sequel.

Did You Hear That?

"Unique!"

submission: Did You Hear That?

I enjoy collabs to begin with, but this was a truly inventive plan to organize and create a theme. I really enjoyed watching so many artists each create their own work, yet there was some consistency for certain sounds. The duck, for example, ends up being a running joke through the whole collab without having been planned. Also, I enjoy anyone using the Doom door sound effect simply because I have fond memories of the game. I would really love to see another sound effects collab, or whatever else you might have rolling around upstairs. Thank you for a fine submission!

This is a great review. Thank you so much!
I too loved how the duck kind of stuck throughout. Duck and eagle. It was one of the other all the time :)
